HKC Round 4 – Rye House

After the last round we found a split in Chris’s chassis, which we deemed terminal. We sourced a newer chassis and went testing before this round. Chris was quicker and more comfortable in this kart so we were hopeful of some strong racing.
Chris got away cleanly at the start of heat 1 but another driver out-braked himself, pushing Chris into the pack of other karts. Chris was pushed into the wall and if this wasn’t bad enough, he hit his brother Lee in the process. Both somehow managed to get going again to finish towards the back.
After this incident we had quite a bit of damage to the kart, which needed fixing before the next heat. The remainder of the day saw Chris finish mid pack.
