HKC Round 5 – Rye House
June 1st 2014
Lee’s day started well. Our Saturday test helped him understand different wheel rims and we changed what he previously used to rims he now prefers.
The first heat saw Lee fired off the track by another competitor. This was a serious accident so we were very thankful there was no injury to Lee. The kart was a different story. Steering column, axle, stub axle, track rod, rear bumper and chassis all bent when the kart hit the wall at the fastest part of the circuit.
We somehow fixed everything and got Lee out for all the other races of the day. Lee drove the best he could but we feel his confidence took a little knock after the morning accident and it didn?t help that we found another crack in the chassis which will need fixing before round 6.
